Vacances.

Battle Jazz Galactica, the FM duel between le Président and Greg de Villanova, serves up full-length jazz tracks and the usual Parisian sniping between records. This episode moves from Paul Chambers’ “Melody” and Bud Shank’s West Coast poise to Billy Harper Quintet’s sermon-like surge, before Bobby Timmons and Art Pepper bring hard bop heat and jailhouse scars, and Letta Mbulu closes with the cross-continental pull of “Afro Texas”.

1. Melody - Paul Chambers.
2. Sambinha - Bud Shank.
3. Funky Vibrations - The Motortown Players.
4. Dance! Dance, Eternal Spirits - Billy Harper Quintet.
5. But Beautiful (Live) - Art Pepper.
6. The Return of Ghengis Kahn - Bobby Timmons.
7. Afro Texas - Letta Mbulu.
