Sortie.

BJG serves up full-length jazz tracks from Gene Harris, Idris Muhammad, Bobbi Humphrey, Reuben Wilson and Lou Donaldson, with the usual Parisian trench-war between Le Président and Greg de Villanova. Expect soul jazz, hard bop and a few sly detours: Muhammad’s New Orleans snap, Wilson’s funked-up Hammond organ, and Humphrey’s Larry Mizell sheen. Miles Davis’s “Flamenco Sketches” and Hutcherson’s “People Make the World Go Round” widen the frame.

1. Higga-Boom - Gene Harris.
2. Express Yourself - Idris Muhammad.
3. Jasper Country Man - Bobbi Humphrey.
4. Flamenco Sketches - Miles Davis.
5. Orange Peel - Reuben Wilson.
6. Swamp Fever - Mel Brown.
7. The Caterpillar - Lou Donaldson.
8. People Make the World Go Round - Bobby Hutcherson.
