For this 13th show of the season, we kill the curse by inviting the London based duo ZENA who just released their first EP TEMESGEN (via @brownswood Recordings) !

Composed of keyboardist-producer Yohan Kebede (also in the band @kokorokomusic ) and bassist-producer Menelik, ZENA is THE new Ethio-jazz band 🇪🇹

Their music is mystical, soulful, sexy, pulling from R&B, trip-hop, dub and psychedelic influences with a Lo-Fi touch.Yohan and Menelik’s music is rooted in the Ethio-jazz that wafted through their childhood homes. So while music from West and South Africa has broken into the Western mainstream and reshaped global pop, ZENA is drawing the world’s attention to Ethiopian music and highlighting East Africa sound.

We will talk about inspirations, live shows, collaborations and upcoming projects 🚀
